We are learning about helping others as part of Social Studies.
Our grade three classes will be collecting food donations for the Veterans Food Bank. Please feel free to bring in non-perishable food items.

Guided and Home Reading

We have been working at guided reading activity stations this week. Ask your student which ones they worked at. Students are encouraged to read for at least twenty minutes each evening to reinforce reading strategies that we are developing in class. They should be selecting books of interest from our Hawkwood Learning Commons, and also have access to Raz Kids for reading material. It is always helpful for students to read aloud to an adult to develop their fluency and get help with decoding and understanding unfamiliar words.

Here are some useful links to help you become familiar with our virtual classroom: Getting started How to turn in an assignment Once you have access to our classroom, the  week of April 6-10  learning plans will have been uploaded.  Please have the activities submitted  by 9 am the following Monday .  For example, next week's assignments will be due by Monday, April 13th.      As a grade team, we tried our best to keep these lessons simple and easy to follow.  Some of the activities can be printed out if you'd like to do so.  If you don't have access to a printer, that's okay!  We tried our best to make the templates easy to replicate with pencil and paper.
