Guided and Home Reading

We have been working at guided reading activity stations this week. Ask your student which ones they worked at.

Students are encouraged to read for at least twenty minutes each evening to reinforce reading strategies that we are developing in class. They should be selecting books of interest from our Hawkwood Learning Commons, and also have access to Raz Kids for reading material.

It is always helpful for students to read aloud to an adult to develop their fluency and get help with decoding and understanding unfamiliar words.
